Sunday, January 19 from 3:00-5:00pm, $35 per person
Time to step away from the busyness of the holidays and enjoy an afternoon of restorative yoga, presence, and community. The workshop will begin with gentle movement before the stillness of longer held, supported poses. By using props (such as blankets, bolsters, blocks and straps) deeper states of rest and relaxation become possible. The use of props support the physical body, this in turn also supports the mind, creating space to practice “being” rather than “doing”. We will focus on backbends, coming into stillness to meet ourselves just as we are with an open heart and listen there. Backbends, the antidote to our daily flexing, (sitting/forward bending) will create increased circulation, improved breathing and assist in bringing your spine into its natural flexion.
All levels of experience can benefit from this practice and no prior experience is necessary. Props will be provided but if you have your own please bring them along, especially a favorite blanket for covering up!
Pre-Registration is recommended as space is limited…the November workshop filled up fast.
Come rest your body and your mind. Come and be.
